Review of Onyx by Jennifer L Armentrout

I was so relieved to see this book pop up on my kindle screen! Onyx has been tugging at my mind since I read Obsidian and I am so glad it finally here! Some coy SPOILERS below:

Onyx was not a disappointment! It was just as good if not better than Obsidian and Shadows! Daemon and Katy are back and Daemon has kept his promise from Obsidian to win Katy over! The chemistry continues to be intriguing and hilarious, the Daemon scenes making your cheeks burn and his quips yanking on your heart! Someone new enters the the pretty picture ...won't tell you who or what the purpose is, but just that he/she or "IT" makes things get interesting! Dawson and Bethany are mentioned, and the mystery increases! It does end in a cliffhanger that makes me want to rip my hair out, so be prepared! At the end of the book we have also been graciously bestowed one of our favorite scenes from Daemon's POV!!!!

Review: Tiger's Voyage by Colleen Houck

Tiger's Voyage (The Tiger Saga, #3)
The Tiger's Curse series is an unstoppable force of nature! A definite page turner! In this epic adventure dragons have crash landed into the pages and into the action. The goal is to find the goddess Durga's black pearl neckalce as well as Ren's amnesia that is killing poor Kelsey's heart!

The battle for Kelsey's affection is more heated than ever and Kelsey is being torn apart! Kishan or Ren? I don't think eenie meenie miny mo is going to cut it. This love triangle is definitly going to make your head spin. First I was loyal to Ren and then I had doubts and it was Kishan , Ren, Kishan, Hurricane, Gaaaah!

I still prefer Ren.

And now I found out there will be a Tiger's Curse movie and it will be written by the co-creator of the CW's The Vampire Diaries !!! It just keeps getting better and better!
I won't be able to breathe until Tiger's Destiny comes out!

Review: Tiger's Quest by Colleen Houck

This book was an enthralling follow up to Tiger's Curse! At first, I was depressed like Kelsey was because Ren was gone. I  sympathized, but simultaneously I wanted to bash her in the head for leaving him out of lack of self confidence! But where Kells is strong, she is also as stubborn as a mule, so if she thought she wasn't good enough for Ren and had to leave, then she left. By then I was aching for Ren to make an appearance...

Kelsey's voice was as tough as nails as well as in the first book, which really persuades me to read more. So many authors use this one standard voice for the protagonist, and while the story can still be good, the best books have a character with a distinct voice that makes them unique, like Kelsey.

The adventures continued to break the curse, with barriers that make your hair curl! The romance is indeed...romancy and I don't want to say any more than that because I will give it away! Well, I will say the pages will flip themselves in a whirlwind with the tension that keeps you enamored!

Who is your favorite? Ren, the heart stopping, sweet, charming fierce white tiger who is very protective? Or Kishan, the depressed, courageous, arrogant, black tiger with bloodlust as well as a warm, patient heart filled with kindness.

I'm betting on Ren.

Review: Tiger's Curse by Colleen Houck

Ok, so let me start off saying that this came out in 2011, and that I am behind on reading it. By a year. And after reading it, I can say "Bad Girl!" because I was really missing out.

 My Excerpt:
Age Range: 12 and up
Pages:448
Sequel: Check
Kelsey Hayes has a quiet life. She has dealt with her parents death years ago and has moved on. She has a nice foster family, but she still covets a deeper love. When her new job involves a circus, a tiger names Ren, and a 300 year old Indian curse, what could possibly go wrong?
Forced to deal with impossible forces, booby traps, and all of it in another country, will her feelings dominate all of the dangers she has to face?

 Review:
Kelsey is a very intricately written protagonist. She is strong, weak, sensitive, cold...she is a normal human being! She likes her socks color coded ,hates the jungle and likes to dress up. She is alive and leaps off the page! When she has a revelation, she doesn't simply accept it nor does she scream bloody murder and run for it.

The problem is the curse. The curse causes the danger, calls forth the evil monkeys, and takes you do deep dark caves that are completely inhospitable. There is magic as well as realistic barriers that prevent them from breaking the curse. You definitely get a heap of adventure in this book.

    *Spoilers*
Ren is one of the best YA guys out there! He is sweet and considerate, but when Kelsey decides to boycott him, his arrogance shines like the sun and rays down on Kelsey so confident that she can hardly resist! I sincerely hope this doesn't end up being a love triangle between Ren and Kishan! Ren all the way!
